Senior Iranian cleric grand Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani underlined the need for writing thematic interpretations of the Holy Quran based on Allameh Tabatabei’s Al-Mizan Exegesis of the Quran.
He made the remark in an address Friday night to the closing ceremony of the international conference on “Allameh Tabatabaei’s Thoughts in Al-Mizan Exegesis”.
Ayatollah Sobhani urged the scholars and researchers in the field of Quran interpretation to study different Quranic themes based on Al-Mizan Exegesis.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the grand source of emulation praised late Allameh Tabatabaei for his services to Islam and the Quran and said Allameh Tabatabaei has been a role model for Islamic seminarians.
The international conference was held on November 13 and 14 at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Education and Research Institute in Qom.
Papers were presented in Persian, English and Arabic and two specialized sessions were held in the program.
An exhibition of works about the character and works of Allameh Tabatabaei including posters, theses, films and photos was also organized on the sidelines of the conference.
