During his advanced jurisprudence class at Qom’s Grand Mosque (Masjid al-A’dham), Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani condemned PM Cameron’s speech at the UN General Assembly and stated that the speech by the British Prime Minister against the Islamic Republic of Iran was absurd, impolite and far from all accepted diplomatic conventions.
During his speech to the United Nation’s General Assembly in New York last week, Cameron stated that Iran was “part of the problem” in the Middle East. “Iran should also be given the chance to show it can be part of the solution, not part of the problem,” he said. He also stated that Tehran’s support for what he said were terrorist organisations had to change, although he added that Iran could help the west in its fight against the so-called Islamic State (ISIL).
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani reminded the seminarians present of the black record and history of the United Kingdom as a colonial and imperial power and stated that our people will never forget their disgusting actions against them. He explained that the United Kingdom founded the Zionist regime in the heart of the Middle East and the Islamic world. “The name of England has been degenerated by its association with cunning and deceitful actions throughout the world,” His Eminence stated.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani, referring to Prime Minister Cameron’s remarks against Iran, said: “Mr Cameron still thinks it is still the nineteenth century and the English still think they hold the top position in the world and that they can tell all the world’s nations what to do.”
The renowned source of emulation emphasized that the blessings of glorious Islamic Revolution awakened the world, saying that the arrogant powers are troubled and their deceitful plans have not been successful. He demanded a resolute stance against these authorities and stated that any attempts at diplomacy with them would be absurd.
In another part of his lecture, Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani remarked on the need to help the Palestinian people to rebuild Gaza. He reiterated that during the recent war in Gaza its infrastructure was completely destroyed. Witnesses have stated that there was massive amounts of damage and injuries and that with the help and efforts of the people, the crowded coastal can be rebuilt.
He urged people with any level of ability and financial resources to rush to the aid of the oppressed people of the Gaza Strip.
